Mahler Academy Orchestra Tickets: Originalklang Tour 2026 Across Europe

Mahler Academy Orchestra tickets are now available for the Originalklang Tour 2026, bringing nine concerts to seven European countries between 4 and 18 September. Under conductor Philipp von Steinaecker, the orchestra performs Mahler's Symphony No. 9 on meticulously reconstructed period instruments from around 1900.

The confirmed tour schedule is: 4 September at Teatro Comunale in Bolzano, 5 September at Sala Mahler in Toblach, 9 September at the Stresa Festival in Milan, 11 September at the Royal Albert Hall in London for the orchestra's BBC Proms debut, 12 September at the Kölner Philharmonie in Cologne, 14 September at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, 16 September at the Brucknerhaus in Linz, 17 September at the Konzerthaus in Vienna, and 18 September at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. Buy your Mahler Academy Orchestra tickets now at ticketbande before seats sell out.

What sets this tour apart is the Originalklang Project itself. The Mahler Academy Orchestra brings together 45 students from the Gustav Mahler Academy in Bolzano with 55 professional musicians drawn from ensembles including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and the Staatskapelle Dresden. Together they perform on reconstructed instruments of the Vienna Court Opera Orchestra from around 1910, using historical gut strings, period brass, and techniques from the fin de siècle era. The result is the closest possible recreation of how Mahler himself heard these works. The orchestra first performed Mahler's Ninth on original instruments in September 2022, the first such performance since the work's world premiere in 1912. On 28 August 2026, just days before the tour opens, the orchestra releases its recording of Mahler's Symphony No. 5 on Alpha Classics. The London Proms concert is the orchestra's UK debut, confirmed by the BBC as part of the 2026 BBC Proms season at the Royal Albert Hall.

Several dates on this tour are already attracting strong demand. The BBC Proms concert on 11 September and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam on 14 September in particular are drawing attention from classical audiences across Europe. ticketbande has been Europe's trusted ticket marketplace since 2001, with over one million customers and more than 4,600 reviews on Trustpilot.
