The original Tubular Bells album, released on May 25, 1973 as the very first Virgin Records release, went on to sell over 16 million copies worldwide and reached No. 1 in the UK. Its opening theme became globally known after featuring in the 1973 film The Exorcist. Mike Oldfield won the Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition at the 17th Grammy Awards in 1975, and the recording was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2018. Previous editions of this concert tour sold out across the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand in 2025 and early 2026, which makes early ticket purchase advisable for the autumn 2026 European dates.
