Volbeat have been writing music history for two decades now. In their career, the metal band has shared the stage with genre legends such as Black Sabbath, Metallica, Motörhead, Slipknot, Megadeth, Anthrax and other greats. After singer and guitarist Michael Poulsen left Dominus, the most successful death metal band in Denmark at the time, he founded Volbeat in 2001 together with his former Dominus colleague Anders Kjoholm and Teddy Vang. The band took its name from an album of the same name by Dominus. In 2004, Volbeat won second place in Denmark's biggest music competition. One year later, the debut album "The Strength / The Sound / The Songs" was released, making Volbeat the first metal band in ten years to enter the top 20 of the album charts. Since their third album "Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood", the Danes have reached the top of the album charts in their home country, but also in Finland and Sweden, with every subsequent album. Their fourth long player "Beyond Hell / Above Heaven" is considered the most successful to date, selling more than 1.3 million units worldwide.
