The Czech National Symphony Orchestra, accompanied by choir and soloists under conductor Gast Waltzing, performs Vangelis's most celebrated film scores live: Blade Runner (1982), 1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992), Chariots of Fire (1981), Alexander (2004) and The Bounty (1984), among others. Large-screen visual projections accompany the music throughout the evening, connecting each score to the cinematic world it was composed for. The repertoire spans a career of more than 50 years and over 50 albums. Vangelis won the Academy Award for Best Original Score for Chariots of Fire at the 1982 ceremony, and the film's main theme reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. These are compositions that defined entire decades of film music, and the Beyond the Horizon production presents them in full orchestral scale for the first time across multiple German cities.
