Fans had to wait three long years for this news, but now the long-awaited announcement has finally come: BTS have announced their comeback for 2026. After a forced break due to military service, the South Korean boy band is returning to the stage.

They have made K-pop popular worldwide – BTS. The seven boys, whose abbreviated group name has several meanings – Bangtan Boys, Sonyeondan Boys or Behind The Scenes – have been conquering not only the charts but also the hearts of teenagers around the globe since their formation in 2010. Before RM (Kim Nam Joon), Suga (Min Yoon-gi), Jin (Kim Seok-in), Jimin (Park Ji-min), V (Kim Taehyung), J-Hope (Jung Ho-seok) and Jungkook (Jeon Jeong-guk) joined forces to form BTS, all the boy band members were pursuing different music or dance careers. It was only through the ‘Hit It’ casting by their label Big Hit Entertainment that the South Koreans got to know each other in 2010/2011. In 2013, BTS released their debut single No More Dream. With their first EP 2 Cool For Skool, the boy band won several awards in their home country as Newcomer of the Year. Since then, the boys have broken one record after another with albums such as Dark & Wild, Wings and Love Yourself: Tear, placing themselves not only in the Korean charts but also internationally. Tracks such as Black Swan, Blood Sweet & Tears, DNA, Save Me, Fake Love, Not Today and Fire have been viewed millions of times on various streaming services.

2018 was the most successful year ever for BTS. They are considered the most famous K-pop group, have won numerous awards and, with their mix of hip-hop, rock and pop ballads, in which they sing about individuality, self-love and teenage problems, appeal especially to teenagers around the world. In order to thrill their ARMY, as their enthusiastic fans call themselves, live, BTS embarked on their almost sold-out Love Yourself tour in the same year, which also took them to Germany, among other places. In 2020, they released two studio albums, Map Of the Soul: 7 and Be, which went multi-platinum in Korea, Japan, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the USA and the UK.

The South Korean boy band's countless collaborations with internationally renowned musicians are proof that they have long been among the biggest stars. After songs with Nicki Minaj, Steve Aoki, Halsey, Charli XCX, Zara Larsson, Juice Wrld, Sia and Ed Sheeran, their latest exciting collaboration was with Coldplay. The single My Universe, which features both English and Korean vocals, reached number 1 in the American charts.
